Dear Friends: Mass shootings seem to be taking on a distinctive national character here in North America with the target of choice down in the States being students while up here in Canada it seems to be women!
Misogynism seems to be a common theme amongst males here in the Great White North ever since Mark Lepine killed 14 women and injured another 14 at the École Polytechnique massacre in Montreal back in 1989 and now Alek Minassian who targetted women in his rampage down Yonge St. in Toronto on Monday! (Apparently Alex called himself an "Incel" because he kept striking out with the ladies and this eventually drove him into fits of murderous rage!)

Incel" or "involuntarily celibate," is a term used by men who claim they have been denied their right to experience sex with women.
The misogynistic community describing themselves as "incels" was banned from Reddit in November for breaking rules that prohibit hate speech on the online platform, The New York Times reported.
Members of the group were accused of encouraging violence against women as well as justifying and encouraging rape, according to an online petition calling to ban the subreddit community.
Sgt. Graham Gibson, a homicide detective with the Toronto police, said the victims in the attack are "predominantly female."
Gibson said Tuesday that investigators are looking at all aspects for the investigation, including the content of Minassian's post.
When asked if the suspect was motivated by his frustrations with women, Gibson said yes, it was part of the investigation.
